Hi,
I'm kind of new to this site. I found it in a round about way when I did a google search on an actress named Tara Strong.....anyway I'm looking for representation....even though I'm getting a nice amount of work via an internet site and a couple of local commercial studios (not counting my own)

Here is my Character Demo.....It's missing my real voice....I have that on other demos. Very Happy

Well it's December 2009. It's been over a year since I posted this. I'm wondering if should update my commercial demo or update this character demo.

I think you are supposed to update your demo once a year . . . have you tried posting on Voices.com?

For what it's worth, I recently updated my demos a bit, after way too long...

I'm not sure there's any hard best practices around how often to do it (i.e. every X months/years etc.), but at the end of the day one's demos should generally showcase one's current capabilities and talents. That's probably the biggest thing.

After that, I'd say the next big thing would be keeping an eye - er, ear - on any content details that could make things sound dated if left on too long. So in my case for example, I've got a clip in my current Narration demo where I mention something that happened in 2009, in my previous version I had a clip which referenced "the dot-com age" etc. ...stuff like that.

As for making sure your commercial demo has a natural speaking voice in it and making that a priority there as opposed to in your characters demo, yeah, methinks that's a good call.
