People asked me so often how I got started in voice acting that I created a page on my web site to answer the question.

I'm in the process of revamping and expanding my web site to provide additional resources to aspiring voice actors. One element on my site that has always been very popular is my recommended reading list.

While I don't teach voice-over, I can recommend Susan Berkley. Susan is a nationally known talent who is the voice of AT&T. I recommend that you start small with a book or audio program since it's a small investment of time and money. She offers such materials, as well as 8-week teleclasses and intense 3-day voice-over bootcamps. You can check out her products and sign up for free newsletters at her web site.

I hope this info helps you. Good luck!

If you're looking for some tips on VO and how to get started, check out my blog.

Why should a guy like me write on success as a VO artist? After starting my business, www.voiceofmichael.com last year around this time, I have already come out in the green. That means I've paid off my bank loan for my professional in-house studio, top-of-the-line computer with amenities, business cards, car window ads, tshirts, and my website. Some VO people never get off the ground, I did it in less than a year.

I've only had the blog running for three days, but there's already some great stuff on there. Subscribe to the RSS feed to be alerted of the newest updates!

Thanks! Best Wishes!

I'm brand new to this site, but I have been a working professional voice over performer and actress for over 20 years. I, too, have received many emails regarding how to get into the business of voice over. I've added a rather large How To section on my web site, as well as many blog posts with Voice over Advice on my blog.

Please visit. Hope I can help!
