Hi! I suppose I should be entering this under "International", since it's coming from England....but it's quite lonely over in that Forum ...so I'll post it here!
What's your dream voiceover gig?
Mine would be doing an anime series -- with a variety of characters of differing ages and nationalities and in ongoing episodes, so that I'd have a chance to work and develop my characters. Oh, of course I would require top rates.
How about yourself?

I'd want to play a character that has a lot of depth, backstrory and personality to them. Kind of like several anime characters, except I'd want to be this character's original voice. |

Well, if I had to do a video game, I'd want to be able to provide a character's voice in a way that's funny. For example, if I were to voice, let's say, Luigi. I'd want a different voice that's being used right now (I'm thinking more Super Show Luigi). Also, I'd probably be providing lots of characters with Italian accents (Link from the Legend of Zelda, Setzer from Final Fantasy 6, Blank from Final Fantasy 9, Mayor Monotoly from Earthbound), and I'd want to provide voices for video game characters from the glory Super NES days. It seems most shows reference PS2 and XBox 360 games and nothing from the good ol' days. -CSM |

My dream voiceover gig:
Ranges from "teenage dude" to "sinister villain", with a little "wacky freaky dude" thrown in. |

My dream gig...would have to be a role in Metal Gear Solid. I wouldn't want to replace the voice of a currently existing character like Meryl or Para-Medic, though. Not only would have be hard because I sound nothing like them, but I respect Debi Mae West (Meryl) and Heather Halley (Para-Medic) WAY too much to even step into their shoes like that! But, if they wrote a new female character, I would love to voice that.
But, I'm just dreaming, now... |

I'd love to do voice-over for video games, but it reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend . . .
Me: They replaced the voice actor I liked with a celebrity voice!
Friend: Well, voice acting doesn't really matter that much when it comes to video games . . .
Me: IT MATTERS TO ME!!!! |

My dream gig would be to voice a super hero like Superman or Batman or even the Green Lantern--In a super hero series...
Then again...A gig that only took 2-3 hours a day 3-4 days a week and pay me enough to live like a KING!! |

I would love to do one that involves several characters each from different countries with lines one after another. That would be the ultimate test. |

Actually, I'd really *love* to be the imaging voice for several radio stations. I have demos to steer things in that direction (one for "softer" (smooth jazz, easy listening, etc.) stations, and one for "harder" (rock, alternative, pop-ish) ones) and I've done some radio imaging for a station in Oregon (105.9 The Wave - which is smooth jazz format) - but would really love to do lots more.
I'd really like to be heard in some commercials in my own local area too (Toronto). One day soon, I hope...
But if I could make radio imaging the majority of my VO career? I'd be happy. I'd also really love to do the voice of a super hero in an animated series. I've seen all of the Batman/Superman/Justice League stuff and adored it.

I wanna be Thorn from Bone(the comic)! REALLY badly, actually. She's probably my favorite comic book girl EVER. If they ever decide to animate this (heck, even live-action) I'd be after the role immediately.
I'd like do to the English voice of Chiko from "The Daughter of the Twenty Faces" which hasn't been picked up in English.
I'd also like to be Miyako from Ghost Hound. I don't know much about the character yet, but I really like the series and the other 3 main characters are teenage boys whose original voices are done by guys. Also not available in English . . . yet.
In one of my own comics (that I'd make), if they were adapted to animation, I'd like to do a voice SOMEWHERE in there. |
