Each Wednesday at noon, the SIRIUS XM Live on Broadway channel features live performances by some of Broadway's biggest stars down at The Broadway Concierge and Ticket Center in Times Square. Last week, they were joined by The Princess and the Frog voice actors Jenifer Lewis (Mama Odie), Michael-Leon Wooley (Louis), and Annie Award-winning actress Jen Cody (Charlotte).
The interview first aired on the SIRIUS XM Live on Broadway channel Friday evening, and all three actors talked about their year-and-a-half long audition process with Disney, the development of their characters, and their background on Broadway. They also each performed a song.
Fortunately, Movidude74's channel on YouTube has posted video of two of those performances. Below, listen to Jen Cody sing the 1920s tune, "How'd You Like to Live Me," that she used as her audition number for the Charlotte character. Then, listen to Jenifer Lewis perform "I Know Where I've Been" from Hairspray.
If you have SIRIUS XM satellite radio, you can listen to encore performances of the hour-long interview on Sunday, March 28th at 11:00 pm (ET), Tuesday March 30th at 7:00 am (ET), and Wednesday, March 31st at 12:00 pm (ET) on the Live On Broadway channel.
