Back in March, Disney XD announced an animated series adaptation of Disney's Academy-Award film, Big Hero 6, would be coming to its channel sometime in 2017. Now we know that the upcoming series will also reunite much of the film's original cast to voice the lead characters in the show.

Reprising their film roles are Scott Adsit as Baymax, Ryan Potter as Hiro, Genesis Rodriguez as Honey Lemon, Jamie Chung as Go Go, Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass, Alan Tudyk as Alistair Krei, David Shaughnessy as Heathcliff the Butler, and even Stan Lee as Fred's Dad.

Wasabi, voiced by Daymon Wayans Jr. in the film, will be voiced by Teen Titans Go! voice actor Khary Payton, and Saturday Night Live cast member Brooks Wheelan will take over voicing Fred in the new series.

Also announced as part of the series are guest stars Jenifer Lewis as Professor Granville, Andrew Scott as Obake, comedian Andy Richter as Globby, Diedrich Bader as Bluff Dunder, Susan Sullivan as Fred’s mother, Sean Giambrone as Richardson Mole, John Ross Bowie as Mel, and Haley Tju as Karmi.

The animated series picks up right after the events of the movie, following the adventures of Hiro, Baymax, and the rest of the Big Hero 6 team to protect the city. In his day-to-day life, Hiro faces academic challenges and social trials as the new prodigy at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology. Kim Possible creators Mark McCorckle and Bob Schooley will executive produce the show, along with Nick Filippi.

Keep an eye out for the new Big Hero 6 animated series coming to Disney XD next year.
