The official Facebook Page of the Chicago-based improvisational theater group, The Second City, has reported that troupe alum and voice actor Tino Insana passed away Wednesday evening at the age of 69.

According to the group's tribute, "Tino was 'discovered' by producer Joyce Sloane when he and his friends Steve Beshekas and John Belushi were doing shows under the name of the 'West Compass Players.' Apparently, the trio was performing entire scenes that they had seen at Second City as part of their act. Instead of sending a cease and desist, Joyce and Bernie Sahlins hired John and Tino to be part of The Second City ensemble."

In the world of voiceover, Insana was best known for bringing to life the characters of Dr. Reginald Bushroot on Disney's Darkwing Duck and Uncle Ted on Bobby's World. Other notable voice credits include Pig on the Back to the Barnyard film and series, Mr. Grouper on Bubble Guppies, and Barf on Spaceballs: The Animated Series.

On-screen, he can be seen in such classic films as "Three Amigos, Beverly Hills Cop III, and Who's Harry Crumb?.
