In a week or two, I am considering auditioning for a part in a cinematic fan remake of my favorite video game of all time: Chrono Trigger. And, as of now, I don't have a mic or anything. I need to go about recording voices on my computer and I need a way to do this. I need to know what to buy and what the best deals are. Any help would be much appreciated. If I wind up doing it, I'll be sure to post my CT demos here. -CSM

Any computer mic should do the trick, though, they range from cheap and low-quality, to super expensive and high-quality. Depends on how serious you are about it and what the folks that are casting you might need as far as quality.

These articles might help you figure out what you need to start:

James Alburger also has an e-book for setting up your home studio:

Hope that helps a little.

And once you do some recordings, post 'em here so we can take a listen. Smile

(edit2: Also some Crono demos. I'd like to do Frog and Magus, but they are already cast, heh. -CSM)

You'll need access to a web server to store the files. I know there are various services that offer free webspace.

Hope that helps.
