Hi folks. I just recently found this place and thought I'd get to know it a bit better. (I'm still not quite sure how one goes about getting a profile here ... and what information is needed for that ...? If anyone could fill me in, I'd really appreciate it.)

I'm full time with this VO stuff - but still fairly new. Though I'm working regularly. Had three projects last week - mostly in the narration/commercials/on hold messages vein. I've done some reading of speculative fiction over on Aberrant Dreams and have volunteered my time over at Librivox.org - and before that, at the CNIB (the Canadian Institute for the Blind - when we were actually still using little reel to reel tape recorders! Ack! <grin>). I've also completed the voice overs for a documentary called Mystery of Saipan, about the island of Saipan during WWII and the possible resting place of Amelia Earhart's plane. It's fascinating stuff. The documentary should be coming out any day now. I had a *total* blast working on it.

My background is as a singer. I've been doing that since I could talk. Wink But I've been in recording studios since about 1988 so I know my way around a microphone. Even still, using a condenser mic is a bit different and I'm *always* learning more about how to really connect with my copy since I don't have the advantage of an acting background to help me with that. I do have a lot of very patient friends who *are* actors though, spread all over. They've been *hugely* helpful and generous with their time and instruction. Still, I play D&D with friends and believe me - there's lots of voice acting going on during THOSE sessions. <laugh> So I take cues from my friends and ham it up. Wink

In 1995, I started The Muse's Muse Songwriting Resource and it's been growing ever since. It's also been written up in a few places like Billboard Magazine and the Wall Street Journal. That started me into a 12 + year career as an Internet Marketer and SEO specialist. Which has been *really* helpful now that I've switched careers.

So if folks have Internet marketing questions they'd like to ask, feel free. Smile

Looking forward to getting to know you guys! And if I know you from voice-overs.com or the VO-BB, feel free to say hi too!

All the best,

--Jodi

Hi Jodi,

We're so glad to have you here! Woohoo! Wink

I can set up a profile for you. Just need a resume of your voice-over work and any other information you'd like to include (headshot, demo, bio, etc.). Feel free to send it over to me at kristy@voicechasers.com and I'll get that all set up for you.

Thanks and see you around the boards! Very Happy
